William Wordsworth was a revolutionary man who sought to seduce poetry that was personal, imaginative, and spiritual in nature. The poem Michael, demonstrates Wordsworths gift in blending together all of his poetic ideas and in the long run creating a beautiful Lyrical Ballad with the ability to flavor the soul of everyone who necessitates it. This essay is thorough and detailed, but its thesis is very weak and the essay largely summarizes the poem. It provides no insight into the deeper meanings, in fact one could easily solicit against the thesis. It is incorrect, the poem actually emphasizes the unsuccessful nature of the pastoral life, which Wordsworth praises in his infamous Prelude. The poem is a great contradiction. The author of this essay makes no mention of this. She also fails to discuss the biblical allusion to the Abraham and Isaac story. A very basic essay, not sufficient for university level. Its hard to deal this could receive an A-, just not possible and any literal college.
